Postdoctoral positions in the fields of Mathematics, Physics and Engineering in Israeli academic institutions. To list an announcement on this page please fill Academic Job Announcement form.

Postdoc in superconductivity
Contact: Dr. Jorge Berger
Department: Department of Physics
Institution: Ort-Braude and Technion
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Physics or Mathematics; publications in related subjects
Starting Date:
Job description: This is a joint project at the Department of Physics and Optical Engineering at Ort Braude and the Department of Mathematics at the Technion. It deals with several dynamic phenomena in superconductivity. The announced position is for an initial period of one year and can be renewed for several years if the researcher is successful.
Postdoctoral Position in Mathematical and Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
Contact: Prof. Eugene Kanzieper
Department: Department of Applied Mathematics
Institution: H.I.T. - Holon Institute of Technology
Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in mathematical or theoretical physics.
Starting Date: May, 2010
Job description: Department of Applied Mathematics at H.I.T. - Holon Institute of Technology (Holon, Israel) invites applications for a postdoctoral position in Mathematical and Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics. The position involves research at the crossroads of the Random Matrix Theory, Field-Theoretic Approaches to Condensed Matter Problems, and the Theory of Integrable Hierarchies. Previous research record in one of those fields is an advantage, strong analytical skills is a must. The initial appointment will be for one year with a possibility of an extension depending on performance and available funds. The announcement of the position is valid until the position is filled.
Postdoctoral Position in Electric-field-induced phase transitions in liquids
Contact: Dr. Yoav Tsori
Department: Dept. of Chemical Engineering
Institution: Ben-Gurion University
Qualifications: Ph.D.
Starting Date: Immediate
Job description: Research on numerical study of a new type of phase-separation transition in liquid mixtures under external electric field.
Postdoc in motion planning and navigation tools for robotic space exploration.
Contact: Prof. Zvi Shiller
Department: Department of Mechanical Engineering-Mechatronics
Institution: Ariel University Center of Samaria
Qualifications: PhD in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science; fluency in English. Desired background: robotics, dynamics, terramechanics, control, optimization, computer graphics, hands-on experience with mobile robots.
Starting Date:
Job description: Research funded by the Israeli Space Agency. The research focus is on the development of motion planning and navigation tools for robotic space exploration. The research is aimed at increasing the range and efficiency of science return missions to Mars. It will involve physics based motion planning and sensor-based navigation, integrated with 3D map building, and vision-based localization. Research results will be tested using dynamic simulations and rigorous field experiments.
Modeling Scanning Probe Microscopy
Contact: Dr. Oded Gottlieb
Department: Dept. of Mechanical Engineering
Institution: Technion - Israel Institute of Technology
Qualifications: Ph.D. in engineering, physics or applied math. Proficiency in nonlinear asymptotic methods and/or computational methods. Experience in bifurcation analyses and/or nonlinear control and/or thermoelastic modeling an advantage.
Starting Date:
Job description: Nonlinear dynamics, stability and control of the scan process in Scanning Probe Microscopy. This research is funded by the Israel Science Foundation and consists of theoretical modeling and analyses required to consistently resolve the nonlinear interactions that limit the operation (e.g. force resolution) of individual scanning probes (including contact Lateral Force Microscopy and noncontact Atomic Force Microscopy).
