Postdoctoral position in Micro- and Nano-Fluidics
Contact: Dr. Gilad Yossifon
Department: Micro- and nano-fluidics laboratory
Institution: Technion - Israel Institute of Technology
Qualifications: Ph.D.
Starting Date: Immediate
Job description: The micro- and nano-fluidics laboratory - http://mnfl.technion.ac.il/ - of Dr. Gilad Yossifon in the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology's Department of Mechanical Engineering is announcing a postdoctoral appointment beginning as soon as possible. The overall research focus is on electrokinetics in micro- and nano-fluidics with main interests in non-linear effects due to ion-permselectivity of nanochannels (e.g. concentration-polarization, overlimiting current) and their interaction with nanoparticles and biomolecules. Besides fundamental research we target a number of application areas involving mainly energy-related (e.g. electro-chemo-mechanical energy-conversion), healthcare (e.g. Lab-on-a-chip, immuno-assay) and other (e.g. artificial ion-channels, nanofluidic electronic circuit equivalents). The Postdoctoral Research Associate will lead and perform experimental research on electrokinetics in nanofluidics involving nanoparticles and biomolecules. S/He should have an earned Ph.D. and strong analytical and experimental skills in fluid mechanics and transport phenomena. In addition, micro- and nano-fabrication skills are required. This is a one year appointment, with a competitive salary and benefits package and the possibility of renewal. To apply please email your research interests, resume and publication list, as well as the contact information for three references to Dr. Gilad Yossifon (yossifon@technion.ac.il).
Postdoc in Nonequilibrium Statistical Physics
Contact: Prof. Baruch Meerson
Department: Racah Institute of Physics
Institution: Hebrew University of Jerusalem
Qualifications: Ph.D.
Starting Date: October, 2013
Job description: Postdoctoral research in Prof. Baruch Meerson's group (http://www.phys.huji.ac.il/~meerson/) on non-equilibrium statistical mechanics. The postdoc will work on theory of large fluctuations in stochastic systems far from equilibrium. The candidate will be submitted for a Lady Davis Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Hebrew University(see: http://ldft.huji.ac.il/upload/info/ ). Applications with CV, one-page research statement and three letters of reference should be sent to meerson@cc.huji.ac.il
Postdoctoral Position in Mathematical Physics
Contact: Prof. Eugene Kanzieper
Department: Department of Applied Mathematics
Institution: H.I.T. - Holon Institute of Technology
Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in mathematical or theoretical physics.
Starting Date: October, 2011
Job description: Department of Applied Mathematics at H.I.T. - Holon Institute of Technology (Holon, Israel) invites applications for a postdoctoral position in Mathematical Physics. The position involves research at the crossroads of the Random Matrix Theory, Quantum Chaotic Systems, and the Theory of Integrable Hierarchies. Previous research record in one of those fields is an advantage, strong analytical skills is a must. The initial appointment will be for one year with a possibility of an extension depending on performance and available funds. The announcement of the position is valid until the position is filled.
Postdoc in superconductivity
Contact: Dr. Jorge Berger
Department: Department of Physics
Institution: Ort-Braude and Technion
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Physics or Mathematics; publications in related subjects
Starting Date:
Job description: This is a joint project at the Department of Physics and Optical Engineering at Ort Braude and the Department of Mathematics at the Technion. It deals with several dynamic phenomena in superconductivity. The announced position is for an initial period of one year and can be renewed for several years if the researcher is successful.
Postdoctoral Position in Electric-field-induced phase transitions in liquids
Contact: Dr. Yoav Tsori
Department: Dept. of Chemical Engineering
Institution: Ben-Gurion University
Qualifications: Ph.D.
Starting Date: Immediate
Job description: Research on numerical study of a new type of phase-separation transition in liquid mixtures under external electric field.
Modeling Scanning Probe Microscopy
Contact: Dr. Oded Gottlieb
Department: Dept. of Mechanical Engineering
Institution: Technion - Israel Institute of Technology
Qualifications: Ph.D. in engineering, physics or applied math. Proficiency in nonlinear asymptotic methods and/or computational methods. Experience in bifurcation analyses and/or nonlinear control and/or thermoelastic modeling an advantage.
Starting Date:
Job description: Nonlinear dynamics, stability and control of the scan process in Scanning Probe Microscopy. This research is funded by the Israel Science Foundation and consists of theoretical modeling and analyses required to consistently resolve the nonlinear interactions that limit the operation (e.g. force resolution) of individual scanning probes (including contact Lateral Force Microscopy and noncontact Atomic Force Microscopy).
